For almost 35 years, Inner-City Arts has been an oasis of creativity in the heart of Skid Row in Downtown Los Angeles. The nonprofit’s programs for youth in kindergarten through high school help shape a society of creative, confident, and collaborative individuals. Through low–and no-cost access to exceptional teaching artists and state-of-the-art studios, students of all backgrounds build skills for self-expression and find new pathways of achievement in the creative economy.
The remarkable campus environment at Inner-City Arts is one of its best assets. Each student discovers a sense of magic in the gardens and the freedom to explore the performing, visual, and media arts in fantastic architectural spaces. By also welcoming the broader community of Los Angeles to enjoy regular performance events in its theater and exhibitions in its galleries, the organization supports and celebrates the arts as essential to all in a thriving society.
Along with youth offerings, Inner-City Arts provides professional development courses for educators to help ensure the creative process is part of school classrooms across the city and beyond. Adult volunteers also find fun and inspiring opportunities to work with youth and arts professionals while helping programs run smoothly.
Financial support from individuals, corporations, and charitable foundations is vital to Inner-City Arts’ vibrant presence in the community. Consider supporting today!
