Johnny (2010)

[Rating: NR]

When Dr. Drew Carter lost his son in a car accident, he didn’t expect to lose his wife, who was driving, as well. Even though she wasn’t physically hurt, Julia has become emotionally absent to Drew and to their daughter Kayla. When Dr. Miller, a close friend of the family, sends Drew a new leukemia patient (Johnny) who is a foster child, the wheels start to turn and Drew sees a chance to heal his family. But Julia is deeply opposed to the idea of adopting this sickly kid and remains in her perpetual guilt-ridden state of grief. With Kayla feeling more and more rejected by her mother and Drew feeling more distant from his wife, he decides to take matters into his own hands and adopts Johnny anyway. Johnny doesn’t know what he’s in for but loves God and is convinced he’s here for a special reason and soon discovers what it is when he enters the Carter’s lives.
