Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary

A Forever Home for the Golden Years

Located in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary is a oneofakind nonprofit that gives senior dogs a permanent home for the rest of their lives. Many of these dogs have been abandoned, surrendered to shelters, or left without a family due to age or health needs. At OFSDS, these “Old Friends” are not just rescued — they are adopted into love for life. They live in a warm, safe environment with topnotch veterinary care, cozy beds, healthy food, and most importantly… constant affection.

The Purple Hallway & The OFSDS Family

One of the most heartwarming aspects of OFSDS is its network of forever foster families. These amazing volunteers open their homes to senior dogs while OFSDS covers all medical and food expenses. This means the dogs get to live in loving homes without their caregivers worrying about the cost of care. The sanctuary itself — affectionately called “The Purple Hallway” — is home to many Old Friends who need a little extra love and medical attention. It’s a place filled with wagging tails, gentle snores, and the comfort of knowing that every dog there is safe for the rest of their days.

Changing the Way We See Senior Dogs

Senior dogs are often the most overlooked in shelters, yet they have so much love left to give. Many are calm, already housetrained, and ready to settle into a quiet life with a loving family. OFSDS is changing the narrative — proving that love has no age limit and that every dog deserves dignity, care, and joy, no matter how many candles are on their birthday cake. Get In On the Action!
